Wetland Study

Students participated in a MWEE (Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience) in the trail/Kutner Park area. Some of the activities included:

  • Soil coring activity, learning how to read the soils to find wetland indicators
  • Measuring and identifying trees, importance of biodiversity
  • Eco-history – Evaluating historic pictures of the area, and discuss human impact on local landscape.

Vegetable Garden

Tomato and cucumber seedlings planted and maintained by Lanier Middle School students. Many more vegetables and fruits were planted.
